Responsible materials as standard
The selection of materials for production, signage and stands is based on sustainable criteria and reusable solutions.
Sustainability is neither a one-off initiative nor a separate section of the programme. At FIS, it is a structural principle that underpins the event’s design, production, transport, suppliers, catering and communications.
MANIFESTO
FIS was founded to promote the franchise ecosystem, based on a vision that combines business growth with environmental responsibility.
The selection of materials for production, signage and stands is based on sustainable criteria and reusable solutions.
We prioritise venues that are well-connected, energy-efficient and adapted to more responsible mobility.
We work with partners who share our commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement across all event processes.
The materials used during the fair are designed to be reused, recycled or given a second life after the event.
FIS is committed to a diverse, accessible professional environment that is also committed to people.
TOOLS
Sustainability at FIS also involves exhibitors and attendees. That is why we provide tools and recommendations to help reduce the impact of taking part in the event.
Information and recommendations on how to set up an exhibition stand in a more sustainable way: materials, suppliers, waste management and best practice for assembly and dismantling.
Public transport options, shared mobility, nearby accommodation and recommendations for taking part in the event’s recycling initiatives.
METHODOLOGY
These are some of the areas of focus that form part of FIS’s sustainability model.
FIS venues are selected with a focus on connectivity via public transport and shared access routes, thereby reducing the impact of travel.
4foreverything, FIS’s production partner, holds ISO 20121 certification for sustainable events. Its production processes incorporate criteria relating to the circular economy, carbon footprint and sustainability.
The materials used during the event are reused or recycled wherever possible. Furthermore, recycled and recyclable solutions are prioritised for the construction of venues.
The catering service prioritises local suppliers, seasonal produce and waste reduction, whilst eliminating single-use plastics.
FIS calculates the carbon footprint generated at each event and implements measures for offsetting and continuous improvement.
Event documentation, signage and information are prioritised in digital format to reduce paper and resource consumption.
CERTIFICATIONS
FIS’s commitment to sustainability has been recognised on several occasions through certifications and seals of approval linked to the organisation of responsible events.
