Chiclana joins the Cities and Franchising Forum to boost local trade and entrepreneurship
- Mayor José María Román Guerrero meets with the AEF and FIS to boost trade and investment in the area through franchising.

The mayor of Chiclana, José María Román Guerrero, today welcomed Eduardo Abadía, executive director of the Spanish Franchise Association (AEF), and Raúl Calleja, director of the Franchise Innovation Summit (FIS), at a key meeting aimed at strengthening local trade, fostering entrepreneurship and attracting investment to the town.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the municipal delegate for Economic Development, Manuela Pérez, representatives from the franchising sector presented Chiclana with an invitation to join the Cities and Franchising Forum, a strategic initiative that connects major brands with local entrepreneurs and investors to boost the economy and create jobs. This forum will take place as part of the Franchise Innovation Summit (FIS), which will be held on 15 and 16 October at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid.
Mayor José María Román has highlighted the importance of initiatives such as this in continuing to position Chiclana as a leader in boosting trade and attracting new business opportunities. Furthermore, consideration has been given to organising a launch event in the town between April and May, where business leaders, entrepreneurs and the media will be able to see first-hand the positive impact of franchising on local development.
Chiclana thus becomes the first town to join a series of meetings to be held over the coming months with mayors and local councils from across Spain. Through this series of meetings, the AEF and the FIS aim to consolidate the Franchise Innovation Summit as the leading sectoral forum driving the growth of trade and entrepreneurship in towns and cities.
As part of this collaboration, Chiclana has been invited to lead a delegation of entrepreneurs and investors at the Franchise Innovation Summit, where they will be able to connect with leading brands and explore new
opportunities for expansion. Furthermore, the town will be able to present itself at the Cities and Franchising Forum as an attractive destination for investment in franchising and business development.
With this first meeting, Chiclana reaffirms its commitment to economic growth and job creation through the franchise model, establishing itself as a city open to investment and entrepreneurship, with the aim of attracting innovative franchise brands and concepts to the city.
