Alcalá de Henares, June 4, 2026.
On June 8, the city of Alcalá de Henares will host a new edition of the Cities and Franchising Forum, an initiative promoted within the framework of FIS 2026 – Franchise Innovation Summit, promoted by the Spanish Franchise Association (AEF), together with the City Council of Alcalá de Henares and Alcalá Desarrollo, with the aim of bringing to entrepreneurs, merchants, entrepreneurs and local investors the opportunities offered by the franchise model to boost economic growth, job creation and the strengthening of the local business fabric.
The meeting will take place from 11:00 am at Alcalá Desarrollo (Calle de la Victoria 10) under the motto “Commerce, entrepreneurship and brands connecting opportunities.” The day aims to be a space for dialogue between public administrations, companies and entrepreneurs to analyze how cities can take advantage of the potential of brands and the franchise system as tools for economic revitalization, attracting investment and generating new business opportunities.
The institutional opening will feature the participation of Orlena María de Miguel Muñoz, Councilor for Commerce, Public Safety and Human Resources of the City Council of Alcalá de Henares and Eduardo Abadía, executive director of the Spanish Franchise Association (AEF).
Next, there will be a lecture “Franchising in Spain: opportunities for entrepreneurs, business owners, merchants and investors,” a space designed to explain how the franchise system works, what current market trends are and what opportunities it offers for those who wish to undertake or expand their business activity.
Subsequently, there will be a sector roundtable with franchising brands and success stories where representatives of McDonalds, O’dreams, L’orange Blue and Clikmi will share real experiences of growth, expansion and business development, showing how franchising has become an effective formula for scaling businesses and generating employment.
The day will conclude with a presentation of FIS 2026, the major national meeting for business expansion and franchising that will be held at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on September 30 and October 1, and will bring together the main brands, investors, consulting firms, financial entities and professionals from the franchise ecosystem.
This third edition acquires special relevance as it takes place in the year when the Community of Madrid will be the Invited Business Community, a recognition that highlights the economic leadership of the region, its capacity to attract investment and its role as one of Spain’s main business engines.
In this context, the Cities and Franchising Forum in Alcalá de Henares becomes an excellent opportunity to bring to the local business fabric the trends, opportunities and business models that are transforming the national and international economic landscape.
A forum specially designed for entrepreneurs and self-employed workers, business owners and executives, merchants and retailers, franchisees and multi-franchisees, investors and investment funds, university students and business schools and consultants and professionals from the franchise ecosystem.
Attendees will be able to learn firsthand how to access already established business models, what sectors present the greatest growth opportunities, what financing and investment mechanisms currently exist, how cities can attract brands and economic activity or what role public-private collaboration plays in generating opportunities.
The choice of Alcalá de Henares responds to its economic relevance within the Community of Madrid, the strength of its business and commercial fabric and its commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development.
The Cities and Franchising Forum aspires to become a meeting point where institutions, companies and entrepreneurs share knowledge, generate alliances and discover new opportunities to boost economic growth in the territory.
