Guadalajara boosts local commerce and entrepreneurship by hosting the Cities and Franchise Forum.
- The meeting will analyze the role of franchising as a driver of entrepreneurship, investment and local economic development in a day that will feature institutional representatives, sector experts and franchising brands
On July 2, the city of Guadalajara will host a new edition of the Cities and Franchising Forum, an initiative promoted within the framework of FIS 2026 (Franchise Innovation Summit) and promoted by the Spanish Franchise Association (AEF), together with Impulsa Guadalajara and with the collaboration of CEEI Guadalajara, with the aim of bringing to entrepreneurs, merchants, entrepreneurs and local investors the opportunities offered by the franchise model to boost economic growth, job creation and the strengthening of the local business fabric.
The meeting will take place from 10:00 am at the Impulsa Guadalajara Office under the motto “Brands, entrepreneurship and local economic development” and aims to be a space for dialogue between public administrations, companies and entrepreneurs, where it will analyze how cities can take advantage of the potential of brands and the franchise system as tools for economic revitalization, attracting investment and generating new business opportunities.
Javier Arriola, general director of Impulsa Guadalajara, expresses his satisfaction that this franchise event is being held in Guadalajara, which represents a “magnificent opportunity to bring to entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and professionals in the province a business model that has demonstrated great capacity to generate economic activity, employment and business growth.
“From CEEI Guadalajara and Impulsa Guadalajara we consider it fundamental to promote meeting spaces where experiences, knowledge and investment opportunities are shared that contribute to strengthening our productive fabric,” he adds.
He also believes that “franchises are a route to entrepreneurship with important competitive advantages, as they allow access to established business models, reducing risks. Therefore, days like this are important for the province of Guadalajara, which has a dynamic business ecosystem and great development potential. At the same time, this type of initiative favors the attraction of investment, job creation and the diversification of economic activity in our territory.”
For his part, Eduardo Abadía, executive director of the Spanish Franchise Association, points out that “The Cities and Franchising Forum aims to promote economic and business activity in those cities that adhere to this initiative, as Guadalajara has just done and other towns have done, aware that this Forum stimulates and favors entrepreneurship, and therefore job creation, as well as public-private collaboration, through the franchise system.”
A program oriented toward action and knowledge
The day will begin at 10:00 am with the institutional opening by local authorities and representatives of the Spanish Franchise Association and will continue with the lecture “Franchising in Spain: opportunities for entrepreneurs, business owners, merchants and investors,” a space designed to explain how the franchise system works, what current market trends are and what opportunities it offers for those who wish to undertake or expand their business activity.
Subsequently, there will be a presentation of FIS 2026, the major national meeting for business expansion and franchising that will be held at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on September 30 and October 1, and will bring together the main brands, investors, consulting firms, financial entities and professionals from the franchise ecosystem.
A forum specially designed for entrepreneurs and self-employed workers, business owners and executives, merchants and retailers, franchisees and multi-franchisees, investors and investment funds, university students and business schools and consultants and professionals from the franchise ecosystem.
The meeting will conclude with a sector roundtable with franchising brands and success stories with representatives of leading brands: Roberto Rodriguez (European Franchise sales manager at Curves), Samuel Luna (McDonald’s franchising consultant), Manoli Peña (Franchise Director at DIA Spain), Jesus Capitan (CEO Serhogar System), Enrique Santos, (Expansion Director at Midas Spain) and Pilar García Ribot (Franchise Expansion Director at Japanese Head Spa) who will share real experiences of growth, expansion and business development and talk about franchise success stories. They will show how franchising is an effective formula for scaling businesses and generating employment.
Guadalajara as a business meeting point
The choice of Guadalajara responds to its economic relevance within Castilla-La Mancha thanks in part to its strategic location next to the Community of Madrid, which has consolidated the Henares Corridor as the most powerful logistics and industrial axis in the region.
Guadalajara stands out as the province with the highest activity rate in all of Spain (64.7%) and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the autonomous community (9.3%). Being the demographically youngest province and with the greatest population growth in Castilla-La Mancha, it has a local consumer market with high spending capacity and competitive average income, which generates a constant flow of potential customers for neighborhood establishments.
